The Hunks of Mullum have arrived

The Hunks of Mullum are twelve ‘hunks’ of native Tallowwood that have been lovingly reshaped into tree hollows to provide shelter for a huge range of native animals. They’re being installed this week at various locations along a path that starts at Mullumbimby Public School and finishes at Mullumbimby High School.

Council monitoring Belongil Creek

Byron Shire Council staff are monitoring water levels in Belongil Creek with the entrance to the creek now closed after the recent large seas.

Feral deer alert activated for Byron Shire

In a big blow for the environment, the Northern Rivers has been placed on feral deer alert and Council is urging the community to take photos and report any feral deer sightings immediately via www.deerscan.org.au
